September 27, 1942 ~ March 10, 2021
Robert (Bob) P. White Jr., 78, of Mooresville, Indiana, passed away March 10, 2021 in the comfort of his home. He graduated from Pike High School in 1960 where he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. After high school, Bob followed in the foot-steps of his father and uncles and went into trade school for ironworking. For 19 years, Bob “road the steel” and helped construct several prominent buildings in downtown Indianapolis including Market Square Arena and Indiana National Bank. For the following 30 years, Bob enjoyed working at Allison Transmission. He made many life-long friends here and golf buddies. He retired from Allison in 2009.
Bob had a passion for both playing and watching sports of all kinds. He bowled on a traveling league and he coached several of his daughters’ softball teams. Golf was certainly his favorite activity and he enjoyed getting out on the courses around town any time he could. Bob had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He provided a fun-loving home for his families and his many pets. His family has many happy memories to cherish.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie, his two daughters, Julie (Andrew) Price and Pamela (Terry) Reeser, granddaughters, Hannah and Holly; his sister, Renee Inman, his stepchildren, James (Nicole) Bryant, Marcie Bryant, Tracy Bryant, Michael (Maria) Bryant and grandchildren Ella, Colin, Emma (Matt) Ziegler, Benjamin and Jackson.

We will always remember Bob’s grace, humor, and love. He will not be forgotten.
Bobby, as he will always be known to me, was one of my dad’s (Harry Nelson) favorite people. So Bobby will always be a favorite of mine as well. RIP Bobby and have fun catching up with all the Nelsons! My deepest condolences to Bonnie and all of the friends and family who enjoyed spending time with him.
My daughter was raised without a father involved. At first I worried that she would not have a father figure in her life. Turned out she was very lucky to have a few great men whom remain in her life and are wonderful influences on her. But Bob didn’t have to. He as her “step” granddaughter. But from day one, he took her in as his own, he seemed so proud of her. The thought of PeePaw being her “step”-grandfather was never a discussed, mentioned or felt by either Emma or her PeePaw or anyone else around. He taught her so much, played with her, was silly with her and she loves him so. I think their best times were the hours and hours they spent learning how to ride horses and riding together. He taught her how to care for her horse, how to communicate and listen to the horse and how to “be in charge”. These things have carried over into the rest of her life. Through the horseback riding lessons PeePaw gained another admirer. Emma’s friend Alicia joined in too. She even calls him PeePaw. He made such an impression that even when the horses were too old to ride, Alicia continued visiting PeePaw and Grandma. PeePaw made a wonderful impression on these two girls. He shared their love of animals and his sense of humor. He never new a stranger. I am so thankful for time my daughter and I had with this kind and generous man. Couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Thank you PeePaw. Marcie Bryant
