Ronald D. “Sox” Norris
70, of Mooresville, passed away on August 11, 2026 at home, surrounded by his family. Sox was born on Valentine’s Day in 1956 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Marvin Eugene Norris and Betty Louise (Finchum) Rogers, who survives.

Sox was a proud graduate of Monrovia High School in 1974. After high school, he proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1975-1978. Upon returning home from service, Sox stayed active playing basketball and softball as well as drag racing, where he earned the nickname “Sox” for his natural ability to shift his race car gears quickly. He was an avid fan of Indiana University, Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Fever. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, However, it was his family that brought him the most joy in spending time with them. He was a member of the American Legion Post #103 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3988. Sox worked as a plumber for various companies in Mooresville and Indianapolis, before becoming disabled in 2003. He will be remembered as a family man who loved his family dearly.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by stepfather John Rogers and his father-in-law, Curtis Atwood.

He is survived by his wife, Jina (Atwood) Norris; children Morgan (Brian) Madsen, Shane (Lisa) Norris; grandchildren Eli and Zoey Madsen, Evelyn Norris; siblings Randy (Jean) Norris, Kim Norris; sister in law Paula (Troy) McCarthy; nephews Josh (Andrea) Norris, Cody Norris, Jacob Norris, Branden McCarthey; niece Mackenzie (Moise) Pierre Philippe; great nieces and nephews Aiden and Alyvia Norris, Zaidyn, Brailyn, Braidyn and Finnlee McCarthy, and mother in law Judy M. Atwood.

In keeping with his wishes, Sox will be cremated and his family and friends will host a celebration of his life on Saturday, August 22nd from 2-6pm at the American Legion Post #103, 350 E. Main Street, Mooresville.
