Ronald L. Alexander

75, of Mooresville, passed away on May 1, 2020 in St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Alexander and parents Denzil and Dorothy Alexander. Ron was born December 7, 1944 in Richmond, Indiana. He grew up on his family’s farm in Lynn, Indiana.

While attending Ball State University, Ron met his wife Sandy on a blind date. They wed on November 27, 1965 and had two children, Dawn and Heather.

Together Ron and Sandy opened Alexander Insurance Agency serving the Mooresville and surrounding communities in 1979. He was a prominent fixture in Mooresville and Morgan County serving on many boards and clubs. He was a very generous and kind man. Ron was well known for the 20 plus years he spent coaching girls’ softball.

He and Sandy enjoyed traveling the world and were avid sports fans of their beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football, IU basketball, and Indianapolis Colts.

Ron thoroughly enjoyed playing golf, reading, and going to movies. Enjoying these things could not come close to the love he had for family and time spent with them.

He is survived by daughters Dawn Russell (Roderick), Heather Foley (Sean); grandchildren Alexandria Day, Jacob Day; sister-in-law Vickie Allen; sisters Pamela Sagala, Palm Coast, FL, Judy Weatherly, Richmond, IN, Becky Cunningham, Apache Junction, AZ; niece Maren Allen; great niece Dakota Parton.

A private service will be held at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville on May 8, 2020.

  7. To my brother, I will miss our phone calls. You always gave me a call and when you didn’t call me I knew something was wrong. Who am I going to try and convince not to vote “Democrat” LOL.   8. So sorry and sincere condolences to Ron’s family. I was a classmate at Lynn and he was a special friend. Our class will be sending a memorial to the Mission as we did for Sandy when she passed away. We will miss him so much.

  10. I just learned today about Ron’s passing. I have fond memories of our family times together together traveling between Mooresville and Martinsville where the adults played bridge and the children enjoyed their time together.
