I worked with Stanley at Overtons Stan was a good man and would help anybody anytime he was a good friend and he will be missed.
Just last Saturday, I sat in the stands with Stan at his grandson’s basketball game talking about how much longer he would work for my family’s company. He said that he wanted to work about 2.5 more years, but I joked with him that I wouldn’t allow it because he is too important. That fact still holds true, he is still important to Overton Industries. He is, and will be for a long time, woven into the fabric of Overton. He will be missed!

I have many fond memories of Stan, having been his neighbor for close to 22 years, but one especially keeps coming to the front of my mind. One summer evening, Tony and I went for a walk and wondered down to the lake. Stan stopped by after work. We chatted for quite a while when he asked if we’d ever seen the catfish being fed? It was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. He knew just the right way to get them to surface. It was like they knew him personally. I could tell by the look on his face that it was something he realy enjoyed. I’ll really miss those moments. God Bless you during this hard time. Our prayers are with you. Tony & Cindy Barker

We are so sorry for your loss and will keep your family in our prayers. Stan was such a fun person that we got to know so many years ago when we first moved to Mooresville.Bill and I are so saddened by his passing.
Kyle- as a teammates family, we are so saddened to hear about your Dad. Know that we are praying for your family during these days. Ty Fetner and family
I just talked to Ty and he remembered how fun the weekend was at your house–it made a lot of difference to a Texas boy. Your family’s hospitality made a huge difference that first semester away from home.
I remember Stan up in the stands of basketball games watching Angie cheerleading, man we were young and he was kind and supportive. I was lucky enough to enjoy his company as an adult when our daughters danced in FL and we hung out at Universal. He was always there at those events that many dads do everything to avoid! What a great man!
