Steve Edwards

On May 6, 2021, Stephen A. Edwards, 75, passed surrounded by love in his home, after a heroic battle with multiple myeloma. Born on September 11, 1945, “Damn It” to Dorthea J. Edwards.
An alumni of Mooresville High School class of 1963, he played in the band and honed his gambling skills that turned into a lifelong love of poker.
As a child Steve spent most of his time with his granddad at the lake or at the shop. At the lake he would fish, shoot, and practice his very colorful language that followed and flourished as an adult. The third generation owner of Ace Tool and Engineering, he became a master metalsmith, machinist, mathematician, engineer, and a never retired.
Steve married the late love of his life on October 7, 1966, Cheryl, a love that lasted over five decades. In 1993 Steve and Cheryl were both honored as Mooresvillian of the Year. He served Mooresville as the Police Commissioner, on the Town Planning Committee, President of the Town Council, and was a proud local resident. Steve never had a problem voicing his opinion.
A WWII historian, foodie, cat lover, a fierce lover of his women, and so much more; Steve will be missed more than words can measure!

Guestbook

  1. Steve was a very hard working person always full of ideals answers and solutions to some pretty big problems. Steve you rest in peace old friend you are going to be dearly missed. Paul Lyons

  2. Steve you will be sorely missed by so many people. I’ll never forget the first time I met you and you said you had a lake house . I’m pretty sure they were ponds lol. I especially miss when you came to Green Bay and gave me pointers on playing poker and roulette.

  3. Met Steve and Cheryl through my husband Donald Barry a little more than 40 years ago. Just saw this announcement of his passing and am sad to know he is no longer with us. I remember him as being extremely passionate about life, loyal and steadfast. He will be missed.

  4. Thankfully he’s back with the one love of his life, Cheryl. Anyone after would’ve Bern merely “company” that’s it.
