Steven R. Baire
77, of Martinsville passed away on July 7, 2026, at St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel. Steve was born on August 25, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Katherine (Cox) and Joseph Baire.

Steve graduated from Martinsville High School in 1966. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam from 1968-1970. Upon returning home, he worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 35 years of service. A true man’s man, Steve enjoyed fishing, racing, riding motorcycles, and driving his 1968 Chevelle to car shows. He will be remembered as an honest, generous, quiet family man, who would help anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Forest W. Baire; brother in laws Doyle “Bud” Wilson, Ronnie Wilson; a daughter Stephanie Baire, and a stepson Chad Mason.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Audrey (Wilson) Baire; brother Joseph (Carol) Baire; brothers in law Danny (Theresa) Wilson, Nolan (Tammy) Miller, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will gather in celebration of Steve’s life on Saturday, July 11th from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with funeral services beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, IN.
