Susan J. Gajderowicz

Susan J. Gajderowicz, 68, Indianapolis, passed away suddenly during surgery on July 7, 2020. Susan was born in Chicago, Illinois, the second oldest child to the late Henry and Ruth (Willey) Gajderowicz on February 26, 1952. The family relocated to Mooresville, Indiana when she was a young child.

Susan graduated as the valedictorian from Mooresville High School in 1970. She earned a nursing degree from Purdue University in 1973 and later graduated from Indiana University with a degree in public health administration. She worked for 20 years at Methodist Hospital as a nurse and nurse educator. Susan was also employed at RHI. She was then employed at Eli Lilly & Company from 1996-2017 and retired as a clinical research administrator.

Susan was a former member of Indianapolis Jaycees. An avid scrapbooker, she also loved to travel and entertain – especially throwing elegant tea parties for friends and family. An Outlander fanatic, Susan was the greatest fan ever of Sam Heughan. While she always enjoyed the time she spent in Mooresville and Indianapolis, her heart was always in Chicago where she loved all that a larger city offered. Family was tops for Susan. Although she never had children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews like her own. She followed all of their sporting, music, and theater events through the years. Susan will be fondly remembered for her generous and compassionate spirit.

Survivors include her siblings, Larry (Joan) Gajderowicz, Linda (Gordon) Esterline, Laura Gajderowicz, and Julie Wallman; nieces and nephews, Jason Gajderowicz, Ben (Jennifer) Esterline, Katie Esterline, Tyler Wallman, Jake Wallman, and Jordan Wallman.

Friends and family will gather Thursday, July 9, 2020, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Very respectfully, all guests will be required to wear masks and observe social distancing. The Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held privately. 50. It’s been almost a year since you’ve been gone and my heart still hurts. You were such a bright light to me and an amazing pseudo auntie to my babies. We bonded over a book/show and became family over the internet. I am sad I never got to meet you in person and I cry every month when we get the National Geographic Kids magazines that you sent to them; I have kept an issue each month to remind me of you and the love of learning you have helped instill in the twins and Iain. I hope you’re having a party in heaven. Much love.
