Susan K. Smalling, 45, Mooresville, died August 12, 2011. Susan was born April 23, 1966, in Indianapolis, to the late James Gordon and Linda Faye (Jones) Smalling.
Susan graduated from Mooresville High School in 1984. She had worked for Smalling’s Market in the 1980’s, the Table Pad Factory, and for Jim Dandy’s Ice Cream Shop.
Susan is survived by her sons, Dale Luttrell of Plainfield and Eric James Luttrell of Mooresville; brothers, Bob Smalling of Mooresville, David Smalling of Mooresville, and Steve Smalling of Martinsville; several nieces and nephews.

Dear Bobby,Stevie and David, So sorry for your loss,she was much too young to leave this earth.It has been many years since I have seen Susan but I still carry many fond memories of her still to this day.I always enjoyed her laugh and her kind manner.I am sure James and Linda are holding her tight.I hope your families can find some peace during this time of loss.You are in my thoughts and prayers. Susan and I were good Fiends thru highschool and after she was a maid of honor in my wedding as I was for her.. We shared many good times and bad times we shared tears of joy and sadness.. our friedship is beyond this life.. I know that when it is my time for heavan she will be there waiting.l will miss her for now.. I know that she is pure and in more pain..LOVE YOU GIRL FRIEND!!!!

I was sorry to learn of Susan’s passing. Of the thousands of students I had over the 30 years I was the Home Ec teacher/FHA advisor at Mooresville HS, Susan stands out as one of my favorites…I still remember her positive attitude and sunny disposition. My condolences.
Hey Mom, I miss you so much in my life. I had a strong, faith and grow heart from you. I love you for no matter what. I always think about you all the time and never forget. I’m not worried about you because you are at heaven with your mom and dad and beautiful Father Jesus. You became an beautiful Angel on August 12th. You are so wonderful and brave mother i ever have. You fought colon cancer in 2 years! I will see you in beautiful heaven someday. I won’t give up on you in my life! Love you Mom
