Timothy W. Colbert, Sr.

October 6, 1957 ~ November 26, 2022
Timothy W. Colbert, Sr., 65, Indianapolis, passed away November 26, 2022. Tim was born October 6, 1957, in Princeton, Indiana, to the late Bill J. and Eleanor (Eckiss) Colbert.
Tim graduated from Mooresville High School in 1976. He worked as an electrician for Network Electric since 2008. Tim was a very talented craftsman who could fix just about anything. Described as the handyman of handymen, he was always willing to help his children with their home projects. Tim enjoyed camping, boating, and traveling, especially to the Smokey Mountains and Anna Maria Island in Florida. He and Sharon enjoyed being members of the Z Club and touring in their Nissan throughout Indiana. While nicknamed “Grumpy Grandpa”, Tim was actually a softy for his grandchildren and loved them immensely. Tim loved his golden retrievers, Reggie & Buddy, and they spent lots of "garage time" together. He will be fondly remembered for his goofy, yet very likable personality.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen and sister, Susan.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon (Parker) Colbert, to whom he was united in marriage December 15, 1990; children, Ryan (Brittnie) Colbert, Erica (Mark) Smith, Trent (Rebecca) Colbert; Timmy (Madison) Colbert; grandchildren, Gabby, Caleb, Addy, Callun, Opal, Cason, and Honey.
Tim’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2022, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Cremation will follow services at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville. My wife Denise and i met Tim entirely by chance. He and his wife Sharon purchased a Nissan Z and came to a club event we were attending. We hit it off immediately and he became a cherished friend. We had so much fun over the years and he always made me laugh out loud. His friendship will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. Rest in peace “Big Boy” you were the best!
We are thinking of you during this difficult time.

Though I have moved and didn’t know Tim, I had your father as my sixth grade teacher and he played an important role in my life by being such a kind and likeable man. I have never forgotten him and imagine Tim was much like him in many ways. It saddens me to learn of your losses and I send my sincerest sympathy to your family. May God be with you at this time and bring you peace.
