Velma J. Bolton

Velma J. Bolton, 83, Danville, passed away September 16, 2021, after suffering a fall this past Monday. Velma was born March 9, 1938, in Lancaster, Kentucky, to the late Dewey and Stella (Kidwell) Pingleton. She married Herschel E. Bolton on November 11, 1954, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Velma worked at the former Wishard Hospital for many years as an accounting supervisor, retiring in 1993. Strong in her faith, she was a member of Eternal Life Tabernacle Church. Velma loved the Lord, her family, flowers, clothes, purses, garage sales, red glass, and fishing in Florida in the winter. She was a strong-willed, opinionated, loving mother. Family was Velma’s favorite hobby, and she was extremely loyal to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her loving family and friends.

In addition to her parents and Herschel, Velma was preceded in death by her daughter, Dixie Diane Schmitt; a grandson, Kody Bolton; siblings, Wanda Faye Pingleton, Phyllis Pingleton, Herbert Pingleton, Charles Pingleton, Helen Feldman, and Beulah Johnson.

Survivors include three sons, Glen (June) Bolton, Tim Bolton, and Mike Bolton; brothers, Mitch (Wilma) Pingleton, Vernon (Janice) Pingleton, Albert Pingleton, Darrell (Bertie) Pingleton, Sam Pingleton, Gerald (Jeanette) Pingleton; grandchildren, Rachel (Sean) Aiello, Brent (Mandy) Bolton, Jackie (Doug) Fultz, Matt (Brittany) Schmitt, Kyle Bolton, Morgan Lescyznski, Jamie Fisher, Blake (Whitney) Bolton, and Bailey Bolton; great grandchildren, Ross, Dom, Quinn, Lane, Mary, Stella, Anna, Easton, Kennedy, Marcus, Harper, Asher, Willow, River, Violet, Jayce, and Remington; a host of nieces and nephews.

Velma’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be Monday, September 20, 2021, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery.
