Wayne Terry

E. Wayne Terry, 65, Plainfield, died May 4, 2012. Mr. Terry was born August 23, 1946, Tazewell, Virginia, to the late Everett R. and Mary E. (Spivey) Terry.

Mr. Terry attended Mooresville High School. He retired this week from the Ford Motor Company, where he had been employed since 1968. Wayne was a member of Five Points Baptist Church and was a regular attendee of Plainfield Christian Church. He was a sports enthusiast, but especially liked all kinds of racing. Wayne also liked camping, but was very content when he could spend time at home with his family. He will be fondly remembered for his smile; he was a genuinely happy man.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Monette Lawson.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl (Smith) Terry, to whom he was united in marriage September 4, 1965; daughter, Teresa Price (Mark) of Mooresville; son, Mike Terry (Jenefier) of Plainfield; brother, Ronnie Terry (Claudia) of Camby; sister, Thelma Jean Murphy of Mooresville; grandchildren, Brandon Heaven, Amanda Thomas, Ashley Terry, Mike Terry, Jr., Jada Cropper; great grandchildren, Mariah and Calvary Thomas.

Pastor Bill Gott will officiate the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call on Monday, May 7, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan County Humane Society.
