Wendell Michael Marshall, 72, of Mooresville, Indiana, passed away on October 16, 2026, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.
Wendell was born on August 5, 1954, in Martinsville, Indiana, to the late William and Thelma (Slifer) Marshall. He graduated from Monrovia High School. Wendell enjoyed watching basketball, as well as cheering on his beloved Indiana University football team and the Indianapolis Colts.
Wendell had a deep love for music, especially rock music, along with some country. Among his favorite bands were AC/DC, KISS, and Journey. He also enjoyed playing computer games and spending time doing the things he loved.
Some of Wendell’s happiest memories were made during camping trips to Lake Melissa. He especially looked forward to the horseshoe tournaments, where his competitive spirit and skill made him a familiar champion. Those who knew him could count on him to come out on top, and his victories were part of what made those trips so memorable.
On April 5, 1974, Wendell married the love of his life, Wanda Morgan. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, companionship, and memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Wendell was a quiet, intelligent man who did not need to be the center of attention to leave an impression. He had his own way of enjoying life, whether through music, sports, computer games, or time spent camping with those he loved. The memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Wendell will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Wanda Marshall; children, Christina Phelps (Jeff) and Wendell Marshall, Jr. (Kelley); siblings, Wayne Russell (Sandy), William Marshall (Loretta), Sherry Marshall, and Tammy Montgomery (Rick); grandchildren, Skylar Carr (Tony), Jordan Marshall, and Lillian Marshall; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Carr; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Scotter, Karen Bauer, and Debra Kay Marshall.
