William E. Lockhart

William E. “Bill” Lockhart, 74, Martinsville, died July 8, 2011. Mr. Lockhart was born December 3, 1936, in Indianapolis, to the late Paul and Goldie (Lindbach) Lockhart.

He attended Washington High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Lockhart worked in management for UPS, retiring after 25 years. He then was the owner of Thunder Bay Resort in Isabella, Missouri for ten years, retiring in 2003. He was an avid fisherman, accomplished wood worker, but above all, he was a great family man.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Lockhart, Jr.; one grandchild, Sarah Ferry; brother, Jack Lockhart.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis (Stump) Lockhart; children, Ruth Brown, Kathy Ferry, Virgil Keeker, Charles “Duke” Keeker, Thomas Keeker, and Heather Uhls; sisters, Mary Jane Flake and Paula Keough; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2011, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Acton Cemetery. Visit www.carlislebranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.

I am so sorry my Dear friend .I just found out Bill had passed on .I am sorry for not being there for you,but you know my heart was.I remember the time you met him .You and I were out for the evening .I think it was love at first sight for you and him .I am so glad you found him .You seem to be his whole world .We had many wonderful times Bill you and I .Life has slipped by us it seems, but our memories will never fade .Rest in peace my old friend God has you in his hands now and I am sure this is something we all can agree on.You were a good man Bill Lockhart .
