Willie E. "Bill" Haggard

Willie E. 'Bill' Haggard, 77, of Sellersburg, died June 23, 2012. He was born on April 13, 1935, in Liberty, KY, to Joseph Haggard and Emma (Harris) Smith.

Willie served in the Korean War as a member of the United States Air Force. He was a truck driver for USF Holland for 20 years before retiring in 1995. He later worked in Idaho Springs, Colorado as a police officer. He was a member of the New Albany V.F.W. and American Legion in Sellersburg. In his free time, Willie liked to work on classic automobiles and attend classic car shows.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Oscar Haggard; and a sister, Florence Ruth Harper.

Survivors include his son, Charles Haggard of Underwood; daughter, Teresa Click of Scottsburg; brothers, Daniel Haggard of Idaho, Eugene Haggard of Indianapolis; grandson, Dalton; former spouse, Anna Haggard of Underwood.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, in the Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Visitation will be held there from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall,Indiana.   5. I didn’t see a lot of Bill when I was growing up, but I always remember how warm he was, and that he always had a hug for me. I am so sad that he’s gone, and that he’s really left an empty place in a lot of people’s hearts. My prayers are with you!
