Wyona "Dee" Hamil

Wyona “Dee” Hamil, 74, Mooresville, passed away at her niece’s home June 10, 2021. Dee was born February 12, 1947, in Beech Grove, to the late Willie B. and Wilma (Cowden) Hamil.

Dee graduated from Martinsville High School and enjoyed her job as a forklift driver at RCA for more than 20 years. She loved to mushroom hunt, play the guitar, write music, and go to garage sales. Dee was a strong believer in her faith and loved people – she had many friends. A cat lover, her cat Blondie preceded her in death, and her cat Mandy survives. Dee will be fondly remembered for her independence, resourcefulness, and a great sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Dean Hamil; a sister, Diana Arthur.

Survivors include a sister, Deana Hamil; a host of nieces and nephews including Schoney Keen and Crystal Salinas; many great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 19, 2021, 1 to 2:30 p.m., at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be next to her father in the Mooresville Cemetery.   2. I remember Dee from her frequent stops at the library. She always had a smile and a kind word. She liked to share her drawings and tell us about them. She loved her cats! We will miss her.
